If anything, the fact demon hunters use Arcane runes to keep their powers in check suggests the two can co-exist in some way. Fel used to just be a more “corrupt” version of Arcane before it became its own thing and plenty of mages have become warlocks, so there’s no reason to believe they’d become unable to use Arcane if they still wanted to (at least not immediately). While it’s true Arcane and Fel are opposites, there’s nothing concrete to suggest you outright can’t wield both. MMO Champion says this occurred in 5.1, has anyone actually done this yet? I hope we dont have to do the Wrathion questline because we'll have to kill Sha of Fear and all that stuff, making it extremely difficult for most warlocks to get this amazing item.I thought you couldn’t use arcane while using fel thinking of demon hunters using arcane tattoos to counter the fel (and maybe it’s of gameplay purposes but seeing how mage and lock have such different abilities) They are busy with the Horde and Alliance war, so you will have to wait until Patch 5.2 to find out what happens next!" He doesn't know anything about it, but is willing to ask his agents. You then return to Wrathion to try and find out what it is. Once there, something happens that creates The Eye of the Storm. He is under attack by forces you unleashed in the Reliquary of Souls, so you assist him and then make your way to the summit. While on your way there, Akama will make another appearance in the area where you fought Bloodboil. ![]() You then follow Kanrethad and Jubeka's trail to the top of the Black Temple. Once you have collected them all, you combine them and follow the source of the power to the Black Temple. You retrieve Jubeka's Journal from them, which has clues as to the location of four Soulstone fragments that contain memories. Next, you infiltrate the opposite faction's base to obtain the second part of Legacy of the Masters. You are then sent to General Nazgrim / Admiral Taylor to let him know that you are going to try and recruit The Council of the Black Harvest to aid in the fight against the Alliance / Horde. You then visit Wrathion, who asks you to read Legacy of the Masters (Part 1). After binding it to you and consulting with one of your demons, you can take it to a Warlock trainer to find out more about it. Warlocks can obtain a Sealed Tome of the Lost Legion that is sealed. "That isn't all Wrathion is doing in this patch however. So far on the PTR I haven't yet found how to start the questline, but reading a different post about 5.1: The quest begins for those Warlocks determined or fortunate enough to have laid their hands on the fabled Codex of Xerrath." "Warlocks can now undertake a solo adventure that culminates with the ability to change the color of their Fire spells to appear Fel green. ![]() It seems, as many of us said at the time here and on Twitter and fansites, the proof of the (green fire) pudding really was in the eating.Įu./wow/en/forum/topic/2986309301?page=4#73Ĭomment by 997805In the 5.2 Patch Notes it reads: It is with regret that we were unable to clarify these details more when we first mentioned our intent - “our hope” - and we wish we hadn’t caused such excitement and raised expectations for those that didn’t instantly take the news with an “I’ll believe it when I see it” pinch of salt. And we haven’t a timeframe to commit to, or communicate about, at this stage. So though we have definitely heard your thoughts on the matter, and we’ve explained what we want to do from our side, green fire will not be available with the launch of Mists of Pandaria. We want something as substantial as this change to be an epic accomplishment for you. ![]() Implementing it in “a quest” doesn’t really explain our stance here. Since spell effects are not as simple to change around as - for example - druid forms are, we need some additional technology implemented in order to allow the use of red or green fire to be a player choice and not a permanent change that is put in place for all warlocks.Īlso, technology aside, we want to do the introduction of something like green fire in the right way. Unfortunately, dear warlocks, those of you who retained a modicum of skepticism were right to, as it would seem that the chance of green fire for warlocks is even less as likely as the wording of the original information indicated. Essentially, we want this updated information out so that we can better manage expectations, especially as the announcement created such a flurry of excitement. So we’ve obtained some additional insight about what exactly lies behind the use of the word “hope” in regard to our efforts to achieve green fire for warlocks.
